For many years OT departments in general hospitals have employed OT technicians. Their main responsibility has been to contribute towards patients' rehabilitation programmes, particularly in providing heavy workshop activities and assistance in the manufacture of splints. This survey examines the role of OT technicians in Social Services Departments.
