Abstract
Job security and a good work record are very important to everyone especially at times of high unemployment, recession and redundancies. It is therefore very important that rehabilitation after a disabling accident or illness aims at returning the newly disabled to work as speedily as possible. Positive intensive rehabilitation and work assessment undertaken concurrently can, for many disabled people, cut down the time absent from work. This concurrent approach prevents the frustration and psychological problems that many disabled experience when left at home waiting to get well enough to work and the subseguent loss of the work habit.
