Abstract
Most Occupational Therapists live and work in or near an urban centre, like the bulk of the population. This is largely true in Scotland as well as the rest of the U.K. Nowhere is the contrast greater than in the Hebrides. The author, based on Benbecula, describes the work of a domiciliary O.T. dealing with disabled people of all ages and conditions, some with limited English, in a widely dispersed, thinly populated rural area.
