Abstract
This report is the result of a special project undertaken in October 1979 during clinical placement at Chase Village Mental Handicap Unit.
It is presented in two parts. The first part, in last month's journal, included a survey of agencies concerned with preparation of mentally handicapped adults for work or with providing a work setting; and a discussion of effective pre-work training, employment placement and follow up service.
Part two, in this issue, discusses assessment of work-related skills and offers ideas for an assessment procedure with a report form.
Conclusions and suggestions are based on reading and visits. It is hoped that suggested methods will form the basis for practical development of work skill assessment and training programmes for mentally handicapped adults
