This report outlines the service provided by the Spinal Outreach Team to individuals in the area of parenting following a spinal cord injury. In particular, it focuses on the role of occupational therapists, using a client-centred approach to address the issues identified by these individuals. Services are information based and include advice and ideas to deal with areas such as the effect of pregnancy, selection of baby equipment, identification of suitable hospital resources and home baby care. This information will assist therapists and their clients in making that link between the desire to be a parent and maximising an individual's potential to do so.
