Abstract
An edition and discussion of a previously unpublished demotic narrative ostracon known as O. Abydos. The ostracon contains the start of a tale involving a beneficent king, the goddess Bastet, a violent episode, and an entreaty. The article discusses the ostracon's provenance and physical appearance, and provides a textual and contextual discussion. As one of few published demotic narrative ostraca, O. Abydos provides important additional evidence for the use of ostraca in demotic scholarship.
