Abstract
Publication of six Greek mummy labels acquired in the 1830s by Robert Curzon, 14th Baron Zouche, and now in the British Museum. Curzon's account of their acquisition is compared to archaeological evidence for provenance, and his descriptions are compared to other early interpretations of the purpose of mummy labels.
