Abstract
The text edited here is a Demotic document from the Ptolemaic Period used for the administration of the temple of Soknebtunis in Tebtunis. It contains a list of the priests of Soknebtunis who were also serving as priests in the cult of Sokonopls. The document was probably given to the lesonis or ‘chief priest’ of Sokonopis who would be responsible for dividing temple revenue into offering-shares for the priests. The document provides the first evidence for the organization of the cult of the god Sokonopis in the Fayyum and shows that he shared the priesthood and probably the temple of the god Soknebtunis.
