By the interaction of formaldehyde with blends of phenol, phenolphthalein (or a phthalide-containing monophenol), and m-cresol in the presence of an acid catalyst, new cresol-containing phenol formaldehyde novolacs and crosslinked copolymers based on them were obtained. Their properties were studied.
