Abstract
An investigation is made of the isothermal filling of a plane cavity by a non-Newtonian fluid with simultaneous impregnation of a porous layer. The flow in the cavity is described by Navier–Stokes inertialess equations, and the flow in the porous layer by the Darcy equation, while in the region adjacent to the fluid/porous layer boundary, the Brinkman equation is used.
