An examination is made of the analogy between the curve of pressure change with time in hydraulic tests of polyethylene tubes to failure and the load–deformation curve, obtained in simple elongation tests. The possibility of determining the main parameters of deformation under simple elongation from the data of hydraulic tests is shown.
