Abstract
An investigation was made of the dependence of the permeability of polyethylene packaging for the storage of granular sugar on the storage time. Increase in the permeability of the packaging is a consequence of the mechanical action of sugar particles. Standardised storage conditions ensure the retention of diffusional water vapour permeability through stacked packaging. A model is proposed for calculating the coefficient of water vapour permeability through packaging for a certain storage time.
