Abstract
The efficientproduction of films is an important requirement for the profitability of film producing companies, and the production efficiency of films can be improved by numerous measures. Savings in raw materials are particularly advantageous since these represent the highest proportion of production costs at up to 80%. In particular, a reduction of start-up times and a decrease in thickness variations in films offer the potential for material savings. However, optimisation of the energy consumption for extrusion lines also increases production efficiency. This article discusses such approaches in more detail.
