An examination is made of the building of the applied theory of a composite anisotropic rod operating in tension accompanied with torsion. The structure of the rod consists of internal fibres, spirally oriented by slight twisting about the rod's axis, and an outer pair of spirally crossing layers. An analysis is made of the strain state of a rod loaded by an axial force, and relations are obtained for determining the displacement and turning of the end section of the rod.
