Abstract
The results of modifying silanol-crosslinked polyethylene by introducing thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) are set out. An investigation was made of the influence of the amount introduced and the methods of introduction of a styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene TPE on the physicomechanical and thermophysical properties of the obtained polymeric material. Results concerning the effect of the modifiers on the creep of specimens of crosslinked polyethylene are analysed. The possibilities of lowering the amount of silanol-crosslinked polyethylene without adversely affecting the quality of the composite material by adding high-density polyethylene are shown.
