Abstract
A study is made of processes of producing gas-filled polymer electrets and their properties. It is established that corona electrets based on expanded polystyrene have considerably higher characteristics than polystyrene electrets, and the causes of the behaviour patterns observed are explained. The optimum technology is chosen for producing gas-filled electret materials, consisting of the polarisation of sheets preheld in solvent, with their subsequent foaming. In this case, the values of the electret potential difference of the plastic foams are sufficient for their practical application.
