Abstract
An investigation was made of the properties of weak solutions of polystyrene and copolymers of styrene with 2- and 4-vinylpyridine in toluene and dimethylformamide in the temperature range 20–35°C. The dependences of the intrinsic viscosity and the Huggins constants in the indicated temperature range were determined. The influence of the composition of the copolymers on the rheological properties of their solutions was shown, and the size of the macromolecular coils was estimated. The “quality” of the solvents was compared with the composition of the copolymers.
