An examination has been made of the conditions under which poly-N-vinylpyrrolidone reacts with chloroacetamide in an alcoholic medium to form an epoxy-containing polymer. It was established that the polymer yield is higher when the reaction is carried out in 1-butanol than in the case of using ethanol as the solvent.
