An investigation was made of the effect of hot chlorinated water on the physicochemical properties of peroxide-crosslinked polyethylene PEX-a. It was shown that, even in the harshest conditions of treatment with disinfectant (the concentration of sodium hypochlorite was increased 10-20-fold by comparison with the accepted standards for potable water supply), direct chlorination (interaction of PE with chlorine) of PEX-a pipes does not occur.
