Abstract
By the polycondensation of 4,4′-dichlorodiphenylsulphone and 4,4′-dioxydiphenyl-2,2-propane with sodium sulphide, copolymers of the poly(arylene ether sulphone-stat-arylene sulphide sulphone) series were synthesised. It was shown that synthesis can be carried out by a procedure similar to the production of polysulphones by simple replacement of part of the bisphenol component with sodium sulphide with a reactant charge in the range 1–90 mol%. It was established that the copolymers obtained, besides high physicomechanical properties, possess reduced flammability and high adhesion properties.
