Abstract
Nanocomposites are a new class of materials in the plastics industry. Their extraordinary new or improved material properties are the result of the extremely fine distribution of modified layered silicates. This article describes the different production methods and the possible structures of nanocomposites, followed by a summary of the most important properties of nanocomposites demonstrating the possible applications.
