Abstract
Plastics with a low surface energy can be firmly bonded together after gas-phase fluoridation. Gasification with a fluorine/nitrogen mixture considerably improves the wettability and adhesion of glues. The effect of this method of pre-treatment was proven with amorphous PET, PP without primers and NR, CR and EPM with different glues. Unlike other industrial pre-treatment methods, gas-phase fluorination may be performed by subcontractors, as the activation state is not limited by time.
