Abstract
Test-retest reliability data for the Revised Beta in a prison setting is almost non-existent. The present study compared scores from 59 male inmates who were administered the Revised Beta at the beginning of their incarceration and then again when they reached their permanent institution. A reliability coefficient of r = .75 was obtained comparing favorably with the reliability measures of other psychometric instruments used in corrections. These results suggest that Revised Beta scores are not significantly affected by the reception station environment. Only those inmates who initially obtained low scores may require retesting.
