Myths are hydra-headed. No sooner is one head lopped off than two grow in its place. The lower intelligence of women is no longer a tenable myth; a new myth emerges-that of the modern violent woman and the criminogenic effects of the 'new feminism' and/or the women's liberation movement. The issue is still being argued.
