Abstract
The following document, which was circulated this autumn by Amnesty International, gives some indication of the way in which writers and journalists are presently being silenced throughout the world. As Amnesty point out, this list is far from complete but it does show the large number of countries that are involved in one way or another in suppressing the freedom of expression.
