Abstract
If the price of liberty is eternal vigilance, it is the work of Statewatch and its tenacious director, Tony Bunyan, that keeps us alert to the inroads that the EU, through its closed, secretive and unaccountable decision- making procedures, is making into democracy. The documentation that follows is taken from Statewatch's ongoing campaign against EU secrecy, and is based on its submissions to the European Ombudsman.
