Abstract
The issue of armament and disarmament is essentially a political problem. Armament dynamics today are depicted in five levels: (1) Military-industrial complexes, (2) Superpowers' arms race, (3) Armament transfer to less-developed countries, (4) Arms races within the Third World, (5) Arms as a means of internal repression in the Third World. Disarmament of this structure of world-wide domination requires that a self-limitation of state sovereignty, to be exercised eventually by all nations, be initiated by the advanced military powers in the form of significant degrees of unilateral disarmament.
