A case of hemangioendothelioma of the liver of a rhesus monkey is described. Histologically, the growth was benign, but demonstrated a diffuse pattern more commonly seen with the adult, malignant form of hepatic hemangioendothelioma. Comparison with tissue changes seen in 4 other monkeys 20 months after exposure at similar dose levels to 55 Mev protons suggests that the tumor was not caused by the prior radiation.
