Two cases of cerebellar malformation are described in male Ayrshire calves. The calves were born into the same herd but a genetic relationship has not been established. Both had a gross abnormality of the cerebellum with absence of parts. The macroscopic and microscopic features of the lesions are described, and it is thought that they were the result of partial cerebellar agenesis complicated by subsequent degenerative changes. The literature on cerebellar abnormalities in calves is briefly reviewed.
