Abstract
Five bovine lung carcinomas are described, four of which are metastases of probable uterine carcinoma. Lung carcinomas do not seem to be rare in cattle; in most cases they represent metastases from primary sites in the uterus. A fifth case, was a primary non-keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma of the lung. For differential diagnosis lung carcinomas in cattle must be distinguished from tuberculosis, mycosis and actinomycosis.
Three cases of primary lung carcinomas are also described in dogs, two alveolar carcinomas and one non-keratinizing squamous-cell carcinoma; and a primary lung carcinoma each in a cat (non-keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma) and in a guinea pig. In the guinea pig the tumor was associated with a chronic purulent bronchopneumonia and a chronic interstitial pneumonia.
