In this article, there was an erroneous statement on page 482. The correct statement is as follow: “Most NOD female mice develop IDDM by 12 to 16 weeks of age, whereas most males typically develop IDDM by 26 to 30 weeks of age.” The original statement read “Most NOD male mice develop IDDM by 12 to 16 weeks of age, whereas most females typically develop IDDM by 26 to 30 weeks of age.”
There were also two acknowledgements that were missing. They are as follows: “We gratefully acknowledge Dr John Sundberg for providing access to archived diagnoses on the Mouse Diagnostic Information System (MoDIS) Database. A National Cancer Institute Center Support Grant, CA34196, supported the institutional shared services at The Jackson Laboratory.”
