Histophotometry of skin nuclei (stained by the Feulgen reaction) of newborn mice treated with the chemical carcinogens, 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene and urethan, and the promoting agent croton oil, revealed an early increase in DNA concentration in treated groups. No significant difference was apparent between the effect of carcinogens and the promoting agent croton oil on the concentration of nuclear DNA.
