A special plastic prosthetic tube for treating stenosis from esophageal cancer is described. It is a Mousseau Barbin tube on to which is fitted a hollow coupling containing a radioactive suspension. The site and degree of stenosis must be accurately determined. 32P in a colloidal suspension was used but possibly other, more penetrating, isotopes could be used too. The method is easy and the risks are negligible.
