Cytological diagnosis was made in 26 cases of cutaneous melanoblastoma, on smears obtained by cautious scraping of the tumor surface. The cytological pattern of melanoblastoma is characteristic: in the smear are present large atypical cells with round hyperchromic nucleus, giant binucleated cells, cells with pseudopodes and granules of melanin, abnormal mitoses.
