Twelve patients with melanoblastoma treated by radiosurgery are symptomless more than 5 years after therapy (4 cases after 5 years, 2 after 6, 1 after 8, 3 after 10, 1 after 12, and 1 after 16). Of these melanoblastomas, one had surface development, one developed on Dubreuilh's melanosis, 5 were of the spindle-cell type, mainly with fasciculate structure, 5 were of the polymorphic-cell type with cytoblastomatous or alveolar structure. A better prognosis was observed for spindle-cell melanoblastomas in comparison with polymorphic-cell melanoblastomas.
