Abstract
The adenosinetriphosphatase activity of mitochondria from Galliera sarcomas inoculated into rats has been studied in isotonic medium and without activators. A similar research was carried out in mitochondria from liver, kidney and muscle of tumour-bearing rats.
The average enzyme activity of tumour mitochondria was found to be 100,66 mg of inorganic P released in 15' and for mg of N. The activity was statistically diminished in the liver, in relation to a decreased enzyme synthesis (mean values: 155 mg P against 230 mg in the controls), whereas in the kidney and muscle no significant diminution was observed.
