The action of 2 methyl-4-mercapto-6 methoxy-quinoline on « in vitro » cultures of chick embrio fibroblasts is briefly described. The substance, at concentrations higher than 5 γ ml causes within 24 hours metaphase block; at the highest concentrations, widespread cell damage and fall in growth indexes are the prevalent effects.
