Abstract
Sera from rats implanted with Walker carcinoma or benzpyrene sarcoma in the posterior region of the thigh, have, been electrophoretically studied. Some of these animals were kept as controls, others treated with Roentgen radiations confined to the neoplastic area, being radiations started when the tumour had reached approximately the size of a pea.
The electrophoretic patterns of the irradiated tumour-bearing animals, with slower tumour growth and consequent higher survival, showed deep alterations due to a severe albumin decrease and manifest changes in the globulin fractions. Of the globulin fractions, especially the on proved to be highly increased and frequently joined to albumins. The non irradiated tumour-bearing animals showed, though to a lesser extent, altered seroprotein records even in the late stages of the disease.
