Abstract
A statistical investigation has been carried out on 1986 patients radiologically treated for carcinoma of the oral cavity and on 411 recurrences ascertained in these patients. Conclusions and considerations are exposed. Particular evidence is given to the fact that the 50 per cent about of recurrences do not come to recovery owing to a delayed presentation to the control examinations. A significant improvement of the recovery percentage may be obtained by a more rigorous technique in the radiotherapic treatment.
