Abstract
The importance of the histological features (bioptical examination) for the prognosis of Hodgkin's disease is considered. All the cases treated in the Radiological Center of the Milan University from 1928 to 1949 and histologically examined by the Authors were classified according to Jackson and Parker. On the basis of the survival data, no evident correlation was observed between histological picture and clinical course. This is likely due to the fact that a single bioptical examination is not sufficient for the classification of Hodgkin's disease, owing to its histological polymorphism and variability.
