Abstract
Researches have been carried out with the « cariologic » method on portio carcinomas treated by radiumtherapy, in order to study the behaviour of tumour cells nuclei under the action of ionizing radiations. It has been noticed that:
1) A total descruction of all neoplastic cells may be obtained with doses of 9600 mgrh.
2) The number of « A » nuclei is markedly reduced already during the first phases of radiumtherapy, while the hypochromatic « B » nuclei and the picnotic ones increase at first and then disappear.
The possibility is admitted that ionizing radiations may determine the transformation of A cells in B cells and picnotic elements following genoma alterations as well as a radical deviation of the nucleo- proteic metabolism.
The hypothesis is presented that the nuclear phenomena, characteristic of the irradiated cells, may depend on the same process of altered synthesis of nucleic acids.
