Abstract
The behaviour of the pancreatic lipase (steapsin « Difco ») in presence of 3-4-benzpyrene has been studied: the carcinogenic substance is dissolved at different concentrations in two substrates, olive oil and tributyrin, which are hydrolyzed respectively at pH 8,5 and pH 6. The influence of the carcinogen on the development of lipolitic activity is also examined.
No significant variations have been observed; and inhibiting tendency of the hydrocarbon on the lipolitic activity is demonstrated, as already remarked in other experiments.
