A high antimitotic action of a hydrazine derivative (1-phenyl-1-benzyl-hydrazine) has been demonstrated on vegetal cells (Allium Cepa). The substance at 1:500.000 concentration causes a prophasic blocking. On the contrary, another hydrazine derivative, the hydrazobenzothiazolhydrazine, was found to be inactive. TEM action is not enhanced by addition of hydrazine derivatives.
