In a multicentre open study. Liquid Gaviscon was shown to give effective relief of heartburn and dyspepsia in over 82% of patients.
Symptomatic relief was obtained during the day and at night-time and the treatment was as effective whether the patients had a short (0–4 weeks) or long (more than 1 year) history of problems.
