Abstract
Dexamethasone (Oradexon-Organon) was used in the treatment of forty-six patients with head injuries and sixty-four patients with brain tumours. Assessments were made based on clinical judgement, direct observations of the brain during surgery and repeated angiography. The results were compared with similar cases from previous years prior to the introduction of dexamethasone. A great improvement was seen with this corticosteroid therapy when combined with the appropriate resuscitation and intensive care techniques.
