The anti-inflammatory agent oxyphenbutazone (Tanderil) when applied in ointment form in concentrations from 3 % to 50 % to the rabbit cornea did not enhance the replication of virus trephined therein. Secondly, the absence of local toxic effects upon the rabbit cornea was demonstrated following frequent administration of Oculentum Oxyphenbutazone over two weeks.
