While conducting internal checks, the Managing Editor noted concerns surrounding this article’s images, specifically:
Figure 5a, α-SMA Model panel appears extremely similar to Figure 5c TGF-β1 losartan panel.
The authors were unable to provide an explanation, or provide the raw, unedited images of experiments conducted.
Due to uncertainty around the integrity of the original images, there are outstanding concerns about the validity of the findings, and so the Managing Editor has retracted this article.
