Urinary Protein Profiles following Urography with Iothalamate

Abstract

Urinary protein profiles (IgG, albumin, β₂-microglobulin) following urography with iothalamate were investigated in 5 patients with functionally and morphologically normal kidneys. In 4 of 5 patients an increased clearance of at least one of the proteins was found indicating disturbance in both glomerular and tubular function and the change was transient (up to 6 days). Albustix was always negative.
