Abstract
The following contribution by Professor James Bowman will be of interest to those of us who teach public administration as well as to a large number of hapless students who never had the occasion to associate the word "readability" with works in public administration. The article should be read in conjunction with Bowman's earlier review of fifteen textbooks published between 1973 and 1977 (James S. Bowman, "The Readability of Introductory Textbooks in Public Administration," 22 Administrative Science Quarterly (June, 1977), pp. 373-376).
