Abstract
It has been the purpose of the Midwest Review of Public Administration, as stated in the position paper published in our first issue, to close the many gaps facing public administration as a profession and a discipline. One of those gaps became obvious recently in the demands for a "new public administration" expressed by many. We are opening the pages of our Review to two doctoral candidates from the School of Public Administration at the University of Southern California to share with our readers their views on the new public administration.
